somewhere in d jungle...d guys & their manual tools
We have not been travelling anywhere for quite sometime now and d kids started to feel quite restless...as well as d parents of course. So, we decided to travel up north during d christmas break. We were quite lucky as we managed to book a condo eventho it was on a short notice...well...somebody cancelled their booking & we grabbed it. The condo is in Ferringhi area...right smack in the night market area.
We were in Penang for 2 nites...and off we pushed further north...this time to Adnan's place in Kedah. Adnan & family's hospitality memang tak boleh lawan...as not long after we arrived, we were on d road again...heading to d border area of Padang Besar market town. But as it was on d weekend...so the stuff's pricing pun kira harga weekend...a bit on d high side.
D following morning, after breakfast at a kedai, we were suddenly in Hutan Simpan Bukit Perangin. Adnan told us that he used to maintained d place and it usually is quite busy on weekends. The kids had a splashing good time in d river. Next stop is Adnan's hill retreat...still being built somewhere in d middle of a 'jungle'. The contruction guys had to use manual tools since there is no electricity there. In d afternoon, we were at Adnan's parents' place...there was an engagement ceremony taking place and it turned out that those getting engaged were IIUM students (the girl is related to Adnan while d guy is an international student...tak ingat dari mana...)!!
After lunch, we were off on our journey home down south...and of course...with stops at strategic places to stretch our legs...and Tanjong Malim's pau tentunye...
Tg Bungah masjid on d left...replacing the one damaged by 2004 Boxing Day tsunami...
...one of the nelayan's boat resting while on d horizon a ship sailing north towards Indian Ocean perhaps
...one of our regular stops...Kebun Bunga & its families of monkeys
