Pak Lah n company arriving
...he seemed genuinely happy to be in UIA
later...dinner...with d Sultan
IIUM celebrated its 25th anniversary today...its silver jubilee. Many events were lined up n I tried to participate as much as possible. Started off with a Special Convo for Abdulhamid Abusulayman...d former rector. He was d rector when I 1st joined UIA and he was very involved in d planning n construction of Gombak Campus when I was with d Development Div.

In d afternoon, Pak Lah (n his entourage) made his presence felt n I could see that he was quite happy to be there...after d debacle of Mahathir quiting Umno yesterday. N later that nite, I joined d fund raising dinner, officiated by d Sultan of Pahang. D dinner was held @ Kaed Gallery...n it was excellently decorated too.

Pak Lah n d current rector leaving d holding room n heading for d main hall. Abdulhamid can be seen in d background (now walking with a tongkat...ksian dia...).

...Pak Lah addressing d dignitaries, IIUM staff n students

later...dinner time...rector, d Sultan, Sanusi n Sano on stage. I learned that Sanusi had quit Umno as well...which explained why he wasn't around with Pak Lah earlier I guessed

wahhh...glamor betul Kaed Gallery that nite

I actually didn't recognise Izwan (left), d TV3 news presenter n n IIUM alumni. Dr. Asiah who was sitting on d same table was suprised that I didn't know him...sorry...huhu. Here we were together with Shafie, IIUM's Development Director. Interesting story as well from Shafie regarding his family's kebun durian not far from UIA...lets just say...durian runtuh...

while trying to exit UIA, many of us were stuck in traffic as d Sultan n entourage were leaving at d same snapped some of d brightly lit building...this is d Rectory/Admin bldg...

...n our Kaed bldg was well lighted up for d event too
