This week is quite hectic programmes-wise. First off there was our departmental meeting on Tuesday that have been postponed several times due to one thing or another. Earlier of course there was that KICT ground breaking ceremony. On Wednesday PURP 2 class was held as per usual n then I joined a special programme on Gaza @ Kaed's Gallery. Next managed to catch up with d senior students n Dr Zin for a briefing by Selangor's JPBD Director at d later's office.
Come Thursday, we were having a 1-day event on Wacana Ilmu n d turn out were beyond expectation...congrats to Prof Alias, Dr Azila n d team. I was asked to be d chairman for d afternoon session with a Deputy Mufti of Selangor n a former Mufti of Wilayah as speakers. N on Friday morning, I was off to EPU in Putrajaya for a Sustainable Development seminar with speakers from Austria-based Int'l Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). N it didn't finish there...as IIASA hosted a dinner in Mandarin Oriental [my 1st time there] n I obliged d invitation. Hhmm...lotih den.
at d Gaza event on Wednesday...various paraphernalia were available while speakers include those who had visited Gaza 1st hand after d recent Israeli's atrocities
Prof Nakicenovic of IIASA delivering his presentation at d seminar in EPU on Friday. Prof. von Winterfeldt, IIASA's director [seated front row] listening attentively to his colleague
dinner later @ Mandarin Oriental...this is d dessert on offer @ d Lai Po Heen restaurant. It is called 'Durian Filled Pancake' n Prof. von Winterfeldt was brave enough to try it...but d durian here has been somewhat watered down I guess. N we were told that he has been forewarned about durian prior to coming here. Looks like durian reputation r not well-received elsewhere...ksian diaa
