...fallen greens n conferment too...Pak Lah special convo
outside: heavy rain + strong wind = pokok tumbang...
...while inside CAC...everything serene merin
Had a crit session d whole day in d studio with d students n then suddenly saw some of them running here n there late in d afternoon. Turned out that d heavy rain n strong wind had uprooted 2 trees near Kaed n they were worried about their cars parked along d circular road. But, alhamdullillah, nothing untoward happen.
Most of d cars were parked on d road today as a Special Convo was held for Pak Lah [Malaysia's PM if u r not in d know]...n Kaed's parking was reserved for VVIPs. I attended d ceremony n Pak Lah apologised in his speech for coming later than d Sultan. He had just arrived @ d airport from Brunei n was supposed to fly on a heli to IIUM. But d weather has other plan of course...so d heli returned to base n Pak Lah had to travel on land to d convo. Well...at least he still gets his Honorary Doctorate in style...n within a thunderstorm nonetheless. Other universities may follow suit soon as he is nearing d end of his term.
d speeding motorists on d Karak hiway were impervious to d commotion underneath...near our secondary entrance/exit. Found out later that few more trees were uprooted as well...right outside of that gate. Just think of d lesser amount of oxygen to be generated from this area after this...n thats one of d reasons why we got to treasure them!!
not far from d uprooted tree, another event of some significance was in progress...d conferment of d Honorary Doctorate to Pak Lah. Here d Sultan was giving his welcoming speech...
...n afterward he conferred d honorary degree to Pak Lah...witnessed by IIUM President/Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, Tan Sri Mohd. Sidek [n Eja in d background...hi Eja...ngapa masam sgt?]
...with d Sultan n Pak Lah coming here, there r bound to be some eye candy...just like this nice black Cayenne. Was thinking about snapping few other rides...but d roving eyes of d abang2 polis made me think otherwise
